Best practices for using Fence Guard
Fence Guard is based on a virtual fence and detection of movement in a defined direction. First you select the area you want to measure movement in/out of, and then you choose which direction you want to measure movements. It is important that you test well and make the necessary adjustments so that you know that the notifications work as you want.
Setting up events
Into bed
Here we have set up an alert for into bed. Because of the depth in the picture, we have chosen to set up the lines at the bottom by the bed. If you look at the outline box of the person in the picture, it is quite large, so it is important to make sure that you let the lines go far enough to the sides that they capture a movement in.
Wrong into bed
ere is an example of incorrect configuration of the bed where the lines are too close to the bed, and that they are too small. The box never gets completely past the lines and a warning is therefore not sent.
Out of bed
Corresponding to getting into bed, we have here added one out of bed in the same area.
Out of room
Here we have set up a alert for out of room. The person can come out of the door from several sides, so it is important to cover from all different angles. Here it is also important to think about the size of the outline box so that you ensure that the entire box comes within the lines when the person leaves the room.
Into room
Here we have set up into room in the same way.
Wrong into room
Here is an example of what happens if you only put the line in front of the door. It is possible to go past the line so that the box never passes the line, it is therefore important that you also think about vertical lines from the various angles the person can pass.
Tools to reduce false alarms
Setting up event-based supervision with Video Motion Detection requires some trial and error, and it may be necessary to adjust the sensitivity of the camera to avoid false alarms. To make the alerts more accurate, you can use a number of tools that have been created to adjust the camera to the desired purpose.
Exclude area
If there is a particular area that is not interesting, you can choose to exclude this area.
"Short lived objects"
It may be necessary to adjust the sensitivity of the camera if you experience false alarms as a result of small movements or changes affecting the camera. By adjusting "Short lived objects", you can define how long an object should be visible before it triggers an alarm.
Small objects
To further adjust the sensitivity of the camera, you can define the size of objects you are looking for. This can be a great way to prevent small objects/pets from triggering an alarm.
